The 3rd San Pablo City Comics Festival

What’s happening in San Pablo City, Laguna on December 3,2011? This is:

“YES! The 3rd San Pablo City Comics Festival is finally happening. You may recall the first festival happened in 2003 at the Mariño Residence along Sampalok Lake. The second one in 2009 at Lion’s Club, also along Sampalok Lake (komikero.com).”

Komikdom goes south as KOMIKERO Publishing (lead by the ‘smiling man of komiks’ Gerry Alanguilan), the Graphic Literature Guild (UPLB) and jonasdiego.com brings us the 3rd San Pablo City Comics Festival. This time around, it will be held at the Ultimart Shopping Center in the heart of the city.

The Festival will showcase original komiks art works past and present, most of which are drawn from The Philippine Comics Art Museum. Activities lined-up for the evet include: an indie comics bazaar, drawing demonstrations, an art workshop, trivia contests and book signings. Coming over as special guests are Pugad Baboy creator Pol Medina Jr. and father and son komiks tandem Jess (Phil. Daily Inquirer) and Manix Abrera (Kikomachine).

The event is sponsored by the United Architectsof the Philippines San Pablo Chapter and Ultimart Shopping Center. Check out the event blog for info on some more stuff and directions on how to get there http://sanpablocomicsfestival.blogspot.com/.
